Less Lawn to mow. Most times when concrete curbing is installed, lawn is removed to in place of flower beds, rock gardens and walkways. This means less grass to mow. Additionally, a lawn mower's wheel can usually be ran upon the concrete curbing edge, eliminated the need for weed whacking/edging.
HOW CONCRETE CURBING IS INSTALLED -Englewood, Rotonda West, North Port, Port Charlotte
Step one. Once a design has been chosen, we will paint lines to distinguish curves to help provide an idea and visual.
Step two. Then our crew will start removing any existing edging, plants or rock that is in the way. Afterwards, we will make a cut in the grass just below the sod root line, creating a 8”-10” wide trench to make way for the new concrete curbing.
Step three. Once preparation is completed, it’s time to mix and pour concrete. Concrete is prepared in a mortar mixer with sand, cement, fiber and water as the basic ingredients. Color additives are also added to the curb mixture to customize the beauty of it to match your home.
Step four. Now its time to use put our concrete curbing machine to work. We will start wheel barrowing the concrete mix to our curb machine and shovel the mixture into the machine. We keep feeding in the machine as we move along our lines.
Step five. There will always be some imperfections coming out of the concrete curbing machine, Using a specially formed hand trowel, the concrete curbing is quickly smoothed into a decorative concrete curbing masterpiece.
Step six. Now its time to stamp the edging and give it the design and pattern you wanted. Additionally, at this step, expansion joints are put in to prevent unpleasing cracking.
Step seven. Once all curbing is laid and the crew is beginning the cleanup process, we go back and seal the curbing using a high-quality glossy sealer.
